I think - don't quote me on this - that a company started up taking subscriptions for these books. Lots of people signed up and started collecting, but the company couldn't keep up with demand. There were quite a few editions published - including one where the title had been mis-spelled :roll:

I'm not sure of the current status of these.

Yes, these are the Unseen Library editions - the first 18 books in the series published by BCA as Tony & poohcarrot have mentioned.
BCA has since become Books Direct
Until recently the last 5 or 6 books of the 18 were still available for around £5-£6 each, but I can't find any there now so I assume they are all gone.
They were published in sets of 3, the first set (COM, Light Fantastic & Equal Rights) in 2001 up untill Maskerade in 2007.
If you want to include the miss spelled Maskarade/Maskerade copy in your collection, there would be 19 to find.

For some reason these have become really expensive, especially the early ones. They are after all book club editions and therefore normally not collectable at all. Bets of luck getting them, they are easy to find but not at sensible prices.

Hello all,
the earlier editions go for decent money as they had realtively small print runs - Colour of Magic only 7,000 or so.
Recently the prices have dropped significantly (austerity anyone?) - so a good time to buy in my opinion (if you beleive that proces will return to previous levels - and I do!).
Waiting to see if BCA start publishing numbers 19 onwards of the series, now that they have shifted the last of numbers 12 to 18.
I trade these an awful lot - so any futher questions please feel free!

I bought the Markerade one today for £1.99 from a charity shop. Should I keep it or try to sell it on ebay with large postage costs? I also found a first edition Wyrd Sisters hardback, signed. Worth much?
