Guards Guards! Is a beautifully balenced book. I have to say barring all Witches I think it Sir Terry's best book. Beautifully written. Saying that Im a common bugger what do I know about litrature? I cant even Spill.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it. Sir Terry Pratchett.

Guards! Guards! is also very clever because although we'd seen Ankh-Morpork in previous books, Terry reintroduced it to us in this one and we saw it through the eyes of Carrot to who it was all brand new. :)

Not read any of the Watch books for ages, so I'll pass on this one. May the best one win. :D

TheMole wrote:by the way, semifinals started just few minutes ago... It´s "Going Postal - Night Watch" and "Guards!Guards! - Small Gods"

and just in case you are interested:
Going Postal - Night Watch 9:17
Guards! Guards! - Small Gods 16:10

 so the final duel will be pure Watch business..

by the way, it ended:

GG - NW 11:17

as Nobby would say - "Join both sides and you´ll surely win" ;-)

I think that's a good result. They are both excellent books, but whereas I'd call GG a Watch book, I think I'd class NW as a Sam Vimes book. :D

What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

He flew off into the starry night with his red hot lady dragon didn't he? To a place they could really 'be'
