A friend of mine was here earlier and talking on the phone. She said she was on "tender hooks" - I bit my tongue rather than correct her and tell her the phrase was 'tenterhooks'. My ex used to say "pacific" instead of specific - just another in a long, long list of why she's now my ex. :roll:

Seriously though, I used to get a newsletter where the guy writing it used to do this. It used to drive me crazy. I made my own newsletter for a Discworld envelope exchange based on this. :lol:

My sister & I take the pee out of people who say "cold slaw". Although I did hear that so many people use thsi now that it's become acceptable English. *Shudder*

My biggest pet peeve is "irregardless." Apparently it's officially a word now, but wouldn't just "regardless" do? :?
