Forgive me for this one heresy, but my favourite Terry Pratchett novel is probably Good Omens.

Aside from that, Guards Guards, The Last Continent, Small Gods, Moving Pictures and (shock) Soul Music are all on my favourites list.

Nothing wrong with Good Omens. A lot of people have gotten into the Discworld series from reading Good Omens. And a lot of Pratchett fans have read Neil Gaiman because of it.

Feet of clay will always be my favourite, as it was my first so holds much sentimental value..but I think the best as such would be Fifth elephant or Jingo! All the joy of Vimes feeling out of his element, who could say no!

I'm with firstofthegangtodie feet of clay was a masterpiece, but you can't go past a good granny story either.

My top 3 so far, in really no particular order

Pyramids
Night Watch
Small Gods

Also, Thud!, Feet of Clay, and Going Postal are superb, but probably these three not quite as good as the first books I mentioned, which all seem to have another level of depth to them in the ideas they're exploring.

Looking forward to getting into the Witches and Wizards novels next.

Hi Teppic. :P

May I say what an excellent list. It's good to see newbies with such refined tastes. :P

However, I think the word "no" was surplus to requirements in your first sentence.

Too hard to separate them I'm afraid. As much as you want me to name Pyramids as #1, I can't. It'd be unfair on the others. :)
