Apart from the DW related song titles I feel there is a serious lack of musical discussion here at a forum for fantasy/fiction readers

I believe we are an enlightened bunch so it shouldn't be too difficult to find others of the same mind...in theory.

All you have to do is paste a youtube link. I'll start the ball rolling...

Great idea Ogg!

I have to say that although I was a great fan of Rock music in the past, these days I listen almost 100% to Classical and have quite a large collection.

Here's several bit's of Polish composer Henryk Gorecki's Symphony No.3 (The Symphony of Sorrowful Songs) sung by soprano Dawn Upshaw and put to the excellent movie Leon.

Warning - the music is really quite moving. :wink:

Yep, I was moved by that TB. I listen to simply everything I can get my hands on. I have a huge collection of film scores/soundtracks as I've discovered so much simply by being moved by a few seconds of music within a movie. The 'Sull'Aria' duet from Shawshank Redemption being a classic example.
I was watching an English film 'This Is England' and loved the piano led incidental music. I soon discovered the source, Ludovic Einaudi an Italian composer and another genius.

My favourite composer at the moment and the composer whose work I'm collecting the most is Ralph Vaughan Williams, an Englishman who spent much of his life travelling Britain collecting folk songs which he 'saved' from disappearing all together. He also used many of them as the basis of his own work. This piece is one such piece. It's called Five Variants of Dives & Lazarus and it's quite beautiful.

I saw Suzanne Vega in the late 80's and recently sent someone an mp3 of the beautiful 'small blue thing'...first time I listened to her for ages and now she's mentioned here.

IMHO this is the greatest music video ever made, ever, by anyone, in the history of the world.

I've seen the band twice and am going to see them again next week on Feb 12th at Saitama Arena.

It's a touch political, but I'm a raving anti-war, tree-hugging, latte-drinking liberal, so there!

Yep, I love that song.

I discovered this song on YouTube some time ago and just loved it and the video straight away - Die Hard by Guyz Nite. Warning - some swearing. :wink:
