Hi DaveC

It's alway hard to change direction. How long have you been doing your current job? I have been in Local Government since 1988 (Yep. Since I was 5). Jobs varying. Nothing using my full brain power. I recently decided to THINK about retraining. It's so difficult to lose the "comfort blanket" of what you know. But, you know what, one day someone will take the blanket from us. I'm considering retraining in Green Energy. Best of luck DaveC. Keep us all informed of your choices...Or else it's death by Bongo-Bongo!

Been at the cinema 5 years, projection for the last 2. Went there straight after uni and was meant to be a quick job while I found something more worthwhile....

CAN ALWAYS WORK IN SECURITY L0NG HOURS PLENTY OF TIME TO WRITE AND THINK OF WHAT TO DO NEXT :)
And in Heather's case, there were sometimes Third Thoughts and Fourth Thoughts, although these were quite difficult to manage and sometimes led her to walk into doors

I don't know if you'd be interested at all, but one industry that is booming at the minute and seems to have a flurry of jobs available is the pharameutical industry, even more so in the IT sector of it.

I work for an IT company that deals with Clinical Trials and the management and running of them. Its really interesting, isn't too technical and is so different to anything i've ever done before. Might be worth a look, even if it is just an "in the meantime" kind of job. Most of the big companies have data entry/management jobs at the very least that are still an inter3estign aspect of the industry...

Thought I'd resurect this thread as I didn't want to clog up the Frustration one.

I have an interview at the comic book shop on Saturday! :) can't wait.

On rereading the opening post I realized I accidentaly said I was 27, I am now but I was 26 when I wrote it. :)

Oh, good luck Dave, really hope you get it :!:

I have to write an application for a job by friday. I always struggle with how to phrase such letters though, which is why I've postponed it until the last minute. Not to self, really need to start working on that tomorrow.

Thats just human nature I think. I have been faffing around with an application form for about a week now and it's only today that I finally pulled my finger out typed it up and dropped it off at the job centre (which was an experience).
