But does it "all end here"? I thought they were splitting it into two films?
What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Sorry can't resist the Churchill quote here:
Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

I heard they would make 2 films out of it too
A poster outside one shop urged people to Dig For Victory, as if it were some kind of turnip.

That's a quote I'd have enjoyed seeing Dubya trying to get right.

I have a weird fixation with How The Grinch Stole Christmas, I can watch it over and over. I think its the colours or something, plus some of Jim Carrey's funniest moments. I dont get the hate, I think its awesome. I wish a film adaptation of a Discworld story could have such a believable strange little world created. I used to think much of the acting in the Discworld movies was over the top and affected the quality of the film, but looking at the Grinch, its all over the top acting and its still good. Mabye the Discworld films just suffer from bad acting :?

No I think they just suffer from less than 10% of the budget

They are getting better though, Going Postal was pretty good.
One of those? Oh I'm sure I have one somewhere..

Bah, budget aint an excuse. Colour of Magic had a bigger budget than Hogafather and it sucked. The acting was terrible, it is generally just a bad film, and it was a seriously bad advertisment for the Discworld series.
Hogfather was actually pretty good though imo. Very atmospheric, and believeable. Susan's lead role was a very good performance, it carried the film well. I thought Death was awesome also and Christopher Lee couldnt lace Ian's boots.
All the big names in COM were dreadfull, apart from James Cosmo, he was bloody great.

Thanks for the welcome everyone :D I'm wary of getting dragged into this as I find forums can sometimes suck the pleasure out of things I enjoy.
I'm hoping the discussions will give me the motivation to start finishing more books, and I'm trying to throw myself back into the discworld after taking a long break of 8-10 years. I'm currently on The 5th Elephant and want to rattle through it as I'm more interested in the books following it. Keep getting distracted though...

And in Heather's case, there were sometimes Third Thoughts and Fourth Thoughts, although these were quite difficult to manage and sometimes led her to walk into doors
