Thud boardgame

Thanks to Ghostsecurity's tip, I'm now probably one of the few native-born Yanks who has a coveteted Thud board.

Not quite as beautiful as the Mad Collector's, but it's still mega-cool. This is the 2001 version. Not sure how it compares to the post Thud! book version. It was sold as "Very Good" condition, but, as far as I'm concerned, the only reason this isn't 'excellent' is that there are a couple of small dings in the corners of the box cover. Everything is looks just about mint. Anyway, for those who are interested, here are pix (sorry that some are a bit blurry):

Your Thud pieces are soooooooooooo amazingly gorgeous, I'm not usually an envious person but at the moment I'm greener than the hulk.

OK I have visited the Cunning Artificer and can confirm that the cloth board Thud game is not only available but is fantastic

To right, at the moment I'm getting addicted to a computer game that hasnt been working for ages. Thud looks cool but how complicated are the rules??

The rules are easy, the game is difficult, well it is if you want to play it regularly and win, anyway even beginners can play the game quite well after an hour or so but to be really good takes practice. It's like chess in that respect.

Think I will have to get two sets and sneak practice as my youngun learnt chess in notime and kicks my butt often. But he is doing maths for 13yr olds at school and he is only 9 now.

Don't know about you, but when I think about what I'd rather be doing on those large dark Swedish nights it doesn't involve playing Thud. Unless there's a beautiful blond Swedish girl sitting across on the other side of the board.
