logging in problems

Postby cols » Mon Jan 19, 2009 12:04 pm

I'm not exactly advantaged in the techno department but I am learning
But one recurring problem is driving me crazy. :x
when I log in to the forum here and return to the main index it says on the bottom of the page that I'm logged on but on the top I'm not logged on. so I log on again (this can happen several times before I appear on the top as logged in) Then when I log out I'm still on the bottom of the page as logged in. I have to log in again - go to post reply- then back to main index- then I can log out properly.
This happens ALOT so please please can someone in the know help me!

I've had this problem when sharing a computer.

Have you tried this:

When you log on click the bit that says "Log on to check new messages".
Then sign in and you'll find yourself on the Inbox for your private messages. You can then go to the main page.

I don't know why, but that seems to work - or at least it's worked for me. :)

Hope that helps - let us know if you are still having problems.

Thanks Tony :D
Followed your instructions and was delighted to see I was logged on when I went to the main index!
I'll log on this way from now on
Thanx again :D :D

Are you guys clicking the "log me in automatically" button when you log in? That might help as it stores the cookies. Mmm cookies.

I'm on a diet. :(

I've never tried the 'log me in automatically'

I'm a little distrustful of things that offer to do something automatically though it's probably the little control freak in me.
Tony's method works so I'm just hoping I don't jinx it up!!

Cookies eh ?well now I'm stuffing myself with a mars bar as the mere mention of food has set me off!!
