Just read Fighting Ruben Wolfe and it is indeed very good. It is different to the Book Thief, but still shows that Zusak is a good writer. The relationship between the family members is the main point to be discussed in this book. I would definately say try it. It is a story about fighting, but it is worth a look!

Thanks Albert - I'll certainly look out for more of his. :D
Look, you've got it all wrong! You don't NEED to follow ME, You don't NEED to follow ANYBODY! You've got to think for your selves! You're ALL individuals!
Yes! We're all individuals!

I just read it and I have to admit I cried.

I'm over-emotional sometimes

I'm going to need a swat team, ready to mobilize, street maps covering the whole of florida, a pot of coffee, 12 jammy dodgers and A FEZ.

Funnily enough, it's the topic of my reading group tonight
What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

I've read it a few times now...And I wrote my higher personal study on it in school, and passed first time (only four people including me in the whole class didn't have to re-sit) which I think is becuase the book was so good and there was heaps to write about, not becuase I'm hugely insightful. xD

I've also read I Am the Messenger (also known as just Messenger I think) which wasn't quite as good - it went a bit flat at the end.

“Upon her arrival, you could still see the bite marks of snow on her hands and the frosty blood on her fingers. Everything about her was undernourished. Wirelike shins. Coat hanger arms. She did not produce it easily, but when it came, she had a starving smile.”
from The Book Thief by Markus Zusak pg. 31
And in Heather's case, there were sometimes Third Thoughts and Fourth Thoughts, although these were quite difficult to manage and sometimes led her to walk into doors
