Oh, that's really good! :D

Can I suggest that anyone wanting to take part in this should send a PM to keith_art as he's organizing this. I'm not sure how often he visits the site, but maybe a PM (Personal Message) will get his attention.

If I may paraphrase some of the comments on the deviantart site (which I totally agree with);

Like wow!!! It's awesome!!!

27th - 30th August Cheery. There'll be further info on the Convention website next month with the full programme of events and activities

Someone was asking about contacting Keith_art - I think he's on the Cunning Artificer's forum more than this one - Tony can confirm anyway :)

HIYA ALL I'm here again. Sorry to have been away so long. I think I'm going PC crazy these days with so many different sites to keep up on. Plus a real-life too!

'Any road up' Here's the latest on the exhibition.
As of the date of this post, I'm about to be speaking with the DWCon chairperson, Brian. We will discuss whats possible and then I'll be back with news.

I thankyou all for your patience.
Keith

[edited 2 say] I'd start a thread about how there seems to be too many threads to follow, these days - but I'd just be adding to the problem

Hi all,

Kinda bad news I'm afraid. After speaking to the Chairperson of the DWCon it has been decided that there will not be an art exhibition THIS YEAR.

Given the complexities of organizing an exhibition it is felt that a lot more planning would be involved if it is to be presented properly to everyone's satisfaction.
As there is such a vast and wonderful array of Discworld related art out there, and such a huge interest in it, there are now definate plans to include an exhibition at subsequent conventions.

Sorry for any disappointment. Keep up your artistic endeavours. I, for one, look forward to a visual feast of DW visions.

Keith.

It's a shame for this year, but very good indeed that it's because people want it to be a permanent feature and presented with all due aplomb so everyone can share in people's creative interpretations of Terry's Universe :D

That really is a shame. :(

Is there any possibility of having an online exhibition somewhere? :?

deviantART has a group thing - it could be possible to start a DW fan art group for everyone to post too. However it depends on how many want to join deviantART [although I think it would be free]

Check it out here

Real shame to hear that. :(
Well... next year then. At least we've got enough time to think of something

And yes, Deviantart is free. You can have premium memberships, but you have to pay for them and it just gives you a few more things to play with.
