I did, but once I got the hang of the mechanics of the game engine it got very boring, very quickly.

1:- Make only enough soldiers to defend your settlements early on and focus on hammering through the ages at maximum speed.

2:- Once one is two ages ahead of the 'puter or competitor, churn out some soldiers and crush it/them mercilessly.

2(a):- Feel free to build the Terracotta Army wonder as early as possible, to ensure shattering numerical superiority.

The problem with RTS games is that it's never about actual strategy, just endless rounds of resource gathering and finding the exploits the programmers left in so they don't get spanked on the internet when the game is first released publicly. (About two weeks after the game comes out and gamers have figured out the methodology, the dev team are "working on a new project" and can't be found on the servers for online play anymore. Coincidence? I'll let you be the judge. ) It was certainly fun, but for me at least, limited in its long term playability.

Yea, I've never really gotten into RTS games because they always seem to boil down to raw power and gathering resources.

Yes! And you can play with 4 people at the same time, they all can have Yoshis and they can eat each other then spit each other out - my kids love that bit!. I like ice Mario. 8)

Ah... yes, possibly. :? But then... why, I'd be using money from my computer fund. I can't live with 2.2 Ghz much longer!
