This is only the second time we've gotten pet rats. Our first one met an untimely end. I was heartbroken.

But, here are the twins - only they're much bigger now! (
How long do they usually live by the way?)
They only live for 2/3 years. I think they make better pets for kids though as they aren't strictly nocturnal, like hamsters & other small furries are.
Best wishes,

Bascule, Your pets are lovely. The cats positions in that basket are very funny.

Flower-bed turned chicken-bed.
Here they're thinking about whether they're going to let me out in to the garden or not.
We gave them a black cockerel, but they didn't like him. I think they're racists!

Yes, very Swedish; red wooden house with white corners is the way to go!

Love your chooks, Casininbetween, you'll never have a nice garden with those around

shame they don't like their mate though.

Best wishes,

Yeah, it's a shame!

Hopefully it gets better when he's fully grown!

LOL! That second picture looks like Day of the Chickens!
What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

That's about how long I thought. I agree, they make much better pets for kids. We had hamsters and gerbils when I was little and they would really bite! But the rats don't bite at all so the Things can handle them and enjoy it.

Welcome Bascule42!

Is that a dog and a cat together in the basket in that last picture?
So many great pets everyone! Love the chickens Casaninbetween. This year at the fair there were some amazing looking chickens. I never knew they could be so colorful, they looked like works of art!
