They only live for 2/3 years. I think they make better pets for kids though as they aren't strictly nocturnal, like hamsters & other small furries are.

That's about how long I thought. I agree, they make much better pets for kids. We had hamsters and gerbils when I was little and they would really bite! But the rats don't bite at all so the Things can handle them and enjoy it.

So many great pets everyone! Love the chickens Casaninbetween. This year at the fair there were some amazing looking chickens. I never knew they could be so colorful, they looked like works of art!
