Apologies for the loss of the board.

Postby Tonyblack » Thu Oct 02, 2008 11:45 am

Hi guys, you've probably noticed that the board has been down now for several days. We are sorry if you found this as frustrating as we did.

There was a problem with the server and the techies at Transworld (bless their hearts) worked long and hard to get things back. They have (we hope) got things sorted and back to normality - if you can call this place normal.

So again, we are sorry for the loss of the board and we hope that you'll all stay and join in the fun.

A message board is only as good as it's members.

Tony

Hi all,

Just to add to Tony's message...

On behalf of Transworld publishers, I would also like to apologise for the recent loss of the board.

The problem was much more severe than originally thought - hence the ridiculously lengthy period of time that we were offline.

As far as worst case scenarios go, this was right up there. We experienced a very critical error that resulted in hardware failure.

I'm happy to say that measures are being taken to ensure that from hereon we have a far more robust system that will prevent a repeat of this situation.

Thank you all for your patience.

Gavin

Thanks indeed Gavin. I'm impressed that you've all managed to save the board intact. I've been on boards where there's been a problem and everything was lost.

So well done to all concerned! :D

Well, Hallellujah! :D

actually, in the meantime I was hesitating about joining the Cunning Artificer Forum - but I found it too huge and overcrowded, so I´ve just been waiting for the resurrection of this one...By the way, was any Igor involved?

What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

I'm still having a couple of small problems. When I sign in, it often doesn't work the first couple of times, although it will default to the index page as if I had signed in. After two or three tries, it will show me signed in. Also, I don't always get the indicators that there are new posts in a thread. Anybody else having these problems?

I'm getting horrendous lag on page changes - and while I had signing in problems - most of that was me using the wrong password - but it was so slow....

Let the joy be unconfind!

however, I do have a question.I don't know if it's my antiquated clacks machine i'm using but there is always a delay moving around the site, and just lately I'm getting 'not responding' nearly everytime I try to do anything.THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING.
Dark in here isn't it.
