The news about the mudslide in the US has been awful, as we all know, but I was greatly saddened to hear on the kitten cam just now, John saying that 1 adopter of a cat from a previous litter lives in that area, and nobody has been able to get in touch with them.

Then, I saw this, on the FB page of Basil and Pepper from the Spice Kittens litter:

It is with a heavy bruised heart that my best friends.... boyfriends sister was found today 4 feet deep in the mud still in her car. (She was driving down 530 at the time of the slide.) I may be silent for a while as my brain is still having a difficult time acknowledging all that has happened. At least her family can now have a bit of closure.

So very sad.

The only shocking this about that story is that school actually dismissed the pervert. Most institutions did their best to protect their in-house perverts and discredit any children who complained.

It was still surprising to know that he worked with Lloyd-Webber and Tim Rice. And I remember hearing about that paedophile organization, in a book about Terry Nation, I think. They were mentioning Terry Nation's inspirations for Blake's 7 and the first episode (where Blake is falsely accused of child molestation), and pointed out that said organization's heyday was about the same time, so it was very much a current topic at the time. I was amazed and disgusted that such a public organization even existed.

His basically anti-EU, anti-everyoneelsewhoisn'thim and just generally anti. :P They had 2/3 majority in the last 4 years and changed the whole constitution like, 4 times and basically settled themselves for the long term (they voted that to make big changes you need to have 2/3 - which is unlikely to happen in the future to the current opposition, even if they managed to win the next elections). It's really scary, because they can basically do whatever they want.

And here's the thing: them getting the 2/3 again seemed actually impossible. Anyone I've spoken to, all the current facebook posts are about people being perplexed, because they sure as hell didn't vote for him (not many people did go to vote anyway, about 50odd percent)...

If they had voted maybe he would not have been elected.
