Beautiful sunset pictures Dug!

Bouncy, loved the snowflakes. One of them looked like Captain America's shield. :D

Knight, great shot!

Isn't the palace somewhere on Calton Hill though? What buildings can we see in that shot please?

Great question! I would like to believe it will actually be spring sometime soon, but I'm not holding my breath. The last photo is of my poor buried mermaid statue.

I popped over to Lewes with a couple of friends to photograph the old horse drawn dray cart that delivers beer from the local brewery to the local pubs. It became a bit farcical in the end since wherever my friend and I set up, a bloody motorist would come along and park in shot (double yellow lines being totally ignored). These are the best I could manage, bearing in mind that the weather wasn't too good and I'm still practising with the camera.

I also went out trying to photograph emergency service vehicles the other day. This is for a new non-profit making charity organization that needs pics for its website (being built at the moment). I've been asked to do the photography for them (I'm not the only one as it will extend to Surrey and Hampshire) and naturally everything was needed for last month so I'm going to be a bit rushed this week! I'm not charging them for this but I will be able to get some money for expenses in the event that I have to travel.)

Anyway, I managed to take a few pics for myself between ambulance chasing. ;)

Testing some of the capabilities of the camera. This is a quite long dark tunnel with artificial lighting so I tried the 'in-camera' HDR which shoots three consecutive pictures at different exposures and then blends them together. I am very impressed with the way it handles the extreme variance of light levels.

I liked the colours, angles, and the seagull on this one.

Just having a play around in Photoshop here.

I am really loving my new camera now that I'm learning where the controls are. It is exceptionally good at handling high ISO noise so the easiest way is to use manual shutter speeds and aperture settings while letting the camera decide the ISO to get the quickest correct exposure levels. :D

The dray ones are good well they all are but the 1st one is my favorite and the tunnel one.
