I've not heard of that one before but it wouldn't surprise me in the least. My friend, at one of my previous jobs, had to provide a copy of her father's death certificate before they would give her time off to attend the funeral. She told them where to go in no uncertain terms before walking out.

Having to go in to prove being unfit for work? How would that work with a broken leg? Whole thing sounds less minor niggle than major trauma

Wanted to work today - in fact I have for about 15 minutes.
I'm working via remote desktop on a computer at my university and that usually works just fine. Now my WLAN got disconnected for whatever reason.
Upon trying to log into my uni account again I entered the wrong password (several times) because caps lock was active. Seems like I've locked myself out now. I hope it is only temporary and I don't have to go somewhere to unlock my account. :/

Deep sympathies CB! I've been having computer problems all day! Have you tried hitting the computer? ;)

No, I usually don't. :D

In this special case I can't hit it because it was the remote computer's fault. Since it is remote, I can't reach it. Thus no hitting.
The problem was only temporary, though.

Glad it was only temporary CB.

Everywhere I go I bump into women's day stuff, even google has now a women's day profile (a whole video!) and on the radio there are people wishing their wives and stuff happy women's day... but Women's day is tomorrow!
..or is it? I'm confused.

It's mainly held in post-socialistic countries... I think it's a pretty nice gesture though :)

That's cos you don't need one. Unfortunately a lot of other women in other countries still do.
