I meantioned in the tv board about the new version of Cosmos coming out. The show is being hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson, but it was made by Seth MacFarlene, the creator of Family Guy and American Dad. That I knew already, which is odd enough, but I also found out he is so much of a Carl Sagan fan, he funded a collection of Carl and his wife's works and collections for the Library of Congress.

Today I learned that it is against the law in Switzerland to just have one pet guinea pig. You can have more than one, but not just one. That goes for any pets that would normally live in a group in the wild. :)

I suppose that makes sense if it is in the interest of the animals welfare. Does that law apply to dogs as well?

No idea - they were only mentioning facts about guinea pigs. :)

Guinea pig boars fight each other but I've kept a little group of sows and they get on well. They talk :D

Oddly enough, there's something in my memory that says that might have been the case at one time :?
Ours were free from a rescue home. We got a rabbit and pig combo (Kevin and Perry) who matched and shared a hutch and also three little piggy girls, Daisy, Mary and Pinball (who was blind and ran until she bumped into something). That was a while ago.

Today I learned that Darwin's children scrawled all over the original manuscript for On the Origin of Species. Here's my favorite of the surviving drawings:

It's been christened "The Battle of the Fruit and Vegetable Soldiers".
