Neil Gaiman's The Ocean at the End of the Lane has been voted 2013's Book of the Year, winning the public vote "by a considerable margin".

Perhaps the reading public have grown up?

Good news for Mr. Gaiman! I loved that book.

Nah. It's like, for example, Time's Person of the Year. Hitler made it once, Stalin made it twice, as did Nixon. I guess they choose that based on how influential the person was, even if said influence wasn't a good one...

And one can't deny that Fifty Shades of Gray is influential. Then again, so was Twishite. Or Atlas Shrugged. Or The Eye of Argon.

You added an extra T. :|

I can't claim the credit, either. I'm pretty sure there's a parody book out there called Twishite.

Well, if I can stop giggling for long enough, it's next on my reading pile.
Then, if I've got any spare time i'll start on a first draft of Twitshite......unless someone has already copyrighted the title.
