It was the title that surprised me, not the fact that such a book existed.

Oh, and I sorta learned WTF 'check your privilege' meant after watching the fourth episode of Hellsing Ultimate Abridged and having it mentioned. Still not sure I get it, though. :|

Just learned Blockbuster Video (and movie rental chain) will be closing all it's remain stores by january.

I know streaming is the thing now, and I haven't been in one in years, but it's still kinda sad as that place made up a good bit of my childhood. :(

Oh hey, learned something else.

Apparently whatever dyes used in Captain Crunch Oops all berries aren't completely digested by the body. Especially the green dye.

Nice idea for a thread btw.

Today I learned that Albert Einstein was the world's most expensive garbage can, and he disintegrated on 2nd November.

I guess I hate the idea more than the film itself, dumb action movies have their place.

Glad you liked it, lots of parody posters went up on the internet when news of the Battleship film was released.

Heard that one before.

I learnt the name of an anime series I had never heard of today...and promptly forgot it. I remember the words vaguely, but Wikipedia isn't enlightening, so I guess I misheard.

I just learned yesterday about a TV play called Underground, done in 1958 as part of Armchair Theatre. An actor called Gareth Jones died of a heart attack, albeit off-camera! Ironically, his character was going to die of a heart attack partway through the play. :o

It was done live, so they had to improvise in a hurry. But still, that's screwed up!

BTW, I first read about this in a Doctor Who book, ironically enough.

I've learned that a word I thought meant solely a Doctor Who monster is actually in the dictionary:

I learnt, specifically, what 'stink-eye' meant...

Oh, it's perfectly benign, I assure you. I was looking up a TV Tropes page that had the funniest moments from the recent Doctor Who spoof, The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot, and they describe the bit in Peter Davison's dream...

Jenna-Louise Coleman warmly assures Peter Davison that he was her mum's favourite Doctor. One double-take stink-eye later, she amends it to her favourite Doctor.

I sort of guessed what it meant the first time I read it, but it was only this morning that I bothered to look up Wiktionary. It's basically another term for a dirty look.

BTW, watch it if you're a fan and have decent internet usage. You'll love it... :D

Well, that's ok then. :D And, thanks! I'll look for that.

That's marvelous!
