I'd love to see more of The Web Of Fear. :) Or indeed the whole of it. :D

It had a surprisingly gruesome death in the final episode. I reviewed the telesnaps once on the BBC website, and was startled to find the death of the character taken over by the Great Intelligence was pretty nasty for 60s TV.

I've posted links to the relevant telesnaps on the BBC Doctor Who classic series site.

I've posted the trailers for the found episodes in the news thread, but here they are: trailers for The Enemy of the World, and The Web of Fear...

I never expected to see the missing episodes counter drop to a number below 100. Can't wait to get my hands on the dvd's when they are released.

I loved Patrick Troughton's Doctor and can remember seeing The Web of Fear when it was originally on TV and I was a nipper.

Just a quick mention for those who have it. Watch tv channel are showing an afternoon of Doctor Who from 2pm to 8pm, including a full length feature of "The Aztecs" with William Hartnell. :D

The way mind reading technology is going, in a few years they'll be able to extract episode 3 from your brainwaves.

if you hadn't have posted it then I would have
I love the clips using most of the old Doctors and some of the assistants past
it makes The Name of the Doctor look very amateurish in comparison

Maybe, but they don't use clips, they mostly seem to use doctored photos and screenshots. The William Hartnell one at the start is a colourised photo from The Web Planet. I know, because I saw the black and white original in one of my Doctor Who books.

To be honest, while it was impressive visually, I didn't actually like it. 'A tale of sound and fury...signifying nothing', as they say.

Actually, to tell the truth, I'm more interested in Big Finish's 50th anniversary special, The Light at the End. Twice the length, twice the (surviving) Doctors (though they're bringing in new actors for the first three, believe it or not!), and possibly twice as good.

And it's available in three different editions. Two guesses as to which one I'm getting...

BTW, if you're wondering who they're bringing in to replace the first three Doctors, one of them is none other than Frazer "Jamie McCrimmon" Hines, who has already portrayed the voice of the Second Doctor for various audio stories, and is pretty close to Patrick Troughton's voice. For proof, listen to this trailer for the Companion Chronicles story The Jigsaw War: not only does Hines play Jamie, but right at the end, at about 1:12, you hear his rendition of the Second Doctor...

I wonder if Frazer Hines is still on Emmerdale. I am so out of touch. :?

I liked the trailer. It's suitably epic, hopefully the episode itself delivers on that.
