The developers held a public meeting this evening - I don't know what they were hoping for, but the hatred in that village hall towards them.......you could taste it in the air! We put out a lot of posters to raise awareness, and had a huge amount of people turn out to look at the plans - then swear at the developers

We had people outside gathering names/emails for further petitions etc and picked up hundreds of names - I didn't find one person that wants this development.

The developer hasn't put in formal plans to the council yet, but we made a lot of useful contacts including several specialists who can help us put together coherant arguments against the plans. The fight is well and truely on! :text-freedom:

Yes! Give them hell Chilli! :D

I'm now picturing Chilli with Fire coming out of his eye sockets, and lightning... well you know the rest.

Some people can't do small talk Catch-up :?

Next door neighbour is reverting to his old ways since my daughter is home for a while. He plays extremely loud hiphop when I'm out and she's in, hammers excessively on the wall, makes their dog bark, bangs door and cupboards. It all stops when I come home. Stupid bastard

A friend of mine had a neighbor who created noise... she hadn't had a stereo system up to then, but she bought one solely to be able to play "Amazing Grace on Pipes and Drums" in retaliation. It worked, too.

My sister used to play 'Ave Maria' every time the neighbour cranked up his noise. The high-pitched tones of the vocalist always drowned out his bass music, and he never lasted more than a few minutes before he turned off the music, and left the house.

My only neighbours nowadays are bears and they don't complain :D At my previous home the neighbours were very noisy, I owned my place but next door was rental and they didn't seem to care about who they had as tenants so we had some right nightmare families in. I was really glad to move
One of those? Oh I'm sure I have one somewhere..

I don't have to worry about neighbors so much as where my place is located. right on the corner of an interstate highway and a major roadway.

generally it's not an issue, the windows do a decent job of muffling all but the loudest trucks and motorcycles, but try recording something. you'd think I was standing next to the road. and when editing you spend more time trying to remove the noise then anything else.

Oh TRAFFIC noise? A whole other subject!
You folks have given me a few great ideas :D
Don't necessarily want them to go but their calculated noise barrage at times is too much.

just broke up a bunch of screaming adults outside of my house from the club next door
by threatening to treat them like cats and soak them with a bucket of water I had handy
(the fight had been going on that long)
one of them did one dumb thing she knew my name and tried to jog my memory by screaming her name at me
then started to scream personal abuse at me calling me a fat f**king B**ch
I've still not a clue who she is but my sister should and she'll give me her full address which I'll pass
to the police tomorrow and the barmaid who was also in this squall shouting at the top her lungs
is going to find her self deficit of a job tomorrow when I'll talk to the manager of the club
why am I still up this late it's because now I am properly awake and I don't want to be

I hope your back feels better soon. Next time you're disturbed by a commotion outside the club I suggest you just call the police and not get involved yourself. The police log all these incidents and it all gets taken into account when the club's license comes under review (a bar down the road from where I work got closed down for six months as a result of this sort of thing). :)
