Oh my word! What a dramatic time at the Firefly litter!
Firstly, foster mom Shelly heard that one of her previous fosters, Sweetpea, had been returned to the shelter. This one was from Shelly's last litter and the kitten was therefore only about five months old. She was determined to pick the kitten up from the shelter and bring home for at least a night where it could be somewhere familiar, with someone familiar.
But then she heard that there was an orphaned litter of five kittens of about a week old that needed to be either bottle fed or put with a willing momma cat. So she brought them home to see if Firefly would comply.
Firefly has been a bit growly - probably because there is so much happening, but she has been keeping a close eye on the new kittens and has even fed them. Shelly has been bottle feeding them all night too and, if Firefly hasn't completely accepted them by the morning, they'll have to go back to the shelter for individual care.
Obviously, the ideal thing would be for Firefly to adopt them - so fingers crossed.
