That's a bum bag. And your phone might be safe, but the fashion police would be after you ;)

Trying to get my head round 100s of pages of SHLAA's, NPPF's, Interim Policies, JCS's.........the government/council really does it's best to make this stuff inpenetrable so the developers can just walk in with well paid lawyers and build where they like! :? :x

I don't suppose there's a tame lawyer living in your village?

Good idea! See if a local lawyer is willing to donate their time.

I'm slowly going cross-eyed from looking through hundreds of pictures. Before I could get to our vacation pics, I had to go through the several months of photos that I hadn't done anything with. Now I'm going through the vacation photos, but there are still hundreds of them! Plus, they've been downloaded from 4 different cameras which is going to make them tricky to sort.

Got a couple of legal types looking into various issues, but to be honest, the new national Planning Framework is so loaded in favour of developers it's gonna be a hard slog to stop 'em - gotta try though.

Also spent my evening speaking to reps from the local branch of the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England. Just trying to gather as much information and as many troops as we can before the planning application is officially submitted to the council.

The CPRE have been in the news in the last week saying that green fied grabbing has gone up 50% since the government brought in their new planning laws  :x

There's an online petition site over here called change.org. Do you have the same thing or something similar there? Perhaps you could look into circulating a petition to change the laws or get that area protected.

One of our neighbors was really snotty to me yesterday. :? She's usually the nicest person, and she did apologize later. Said she'd had a bad day and it came across in her tone. The tone doesn't matter much, since what she said was actually really snotty too, not just the way she said it.

The developers held a public meeting this evening - I don't know what they were hoping for, but the hatred in that village hall towards them.......you could taste it in the air! We put out a lot of posters to raise awareness, and had a huge amount of people turn out to look at the plans - then swear at the developers

We had people outside gathering names/emails for further petitions etc and picked up hundreds of names - I didn't find one person that wants this development.

The developer hasn't put in formal plans to the council yet, but we made a lot of useful contacts including several specialists who can help us put together coherant arguments against the plans. The fight is well and truely on! :text-freedom:

You get 'em chilli! :D

Catch-up, I'm sure she feels really bad or she wouldn't have apologised. Maybe she's also hoping that you'll forget what she said :) Do something nice for her and the guilt will eat her up ;)

My hairbrush broke in two, and there isn't a local shop within walking distance that I know of that sells them. My thick Irish hair's pain enough to brush out on a good day, nevermind trying to with a handleless brush :?

I like the way you think. 8-) Meh. It's forgotten. I know she's under a lot of stress recently. She's just one of those people that I've learned to keep at arm's length. Super nice, but also very intense. One Saturday morning she wanted to walk downtown and grab a cup of coffee together. I thought it would be a fun way to start the day. She brought a newspaper with her, slapped it down on the table, pointed to a story about a terrorist and wanted to know what I thought motivated people like that. Jesus Christ. I hadn't even gotten two sips of my coffee in and she wanted to talk terrorists. She's not intense in an aggressive way, just seems to think that every conversation has to be deep and meaningful. Ran into her at the grocery store a couple of mornings ago and she wanted to talk about some self help videos she saw and how we all deal with self doubt. What happened to, "Nice weather, huh?" "How was your summer?" Jeez.
