Got this lovely boy, Zsar Nickolai, on Saturday ^^ Sans the actual Zsar-ness of course. But the Russian name kind of suited our Macedonian last name :] Veskov.
'He's 7 weeks, and is here to fill up the space given from the loss of our lovely boy, George.

I've sort of got a pet at the moment - sort of. There's a mouse with squatting rights living under the floorboards with a taste for soap.

I've had a few small pieces of soap go missing and the stub of my shaving soap was dragged to the kitchen where it got eaten.

I thought (as it's been quiet recently) that the mouse had gone. But NO! This morning I found a new bar of soap had been worked on.



I'm thinking I may have to ask in the shop whether they sell soap that doesn't taste nice.

What nutritional values would you think mice would find in soap? I'd prefer a nice wedge of cardboard box if I were a mouse.

Haha! I think we could have a few of our own already! We've caught 2 with the mouse traps already (quite depressing if you ask me, I actually quite adore mice).
He's quite affectionate, and as I do a little kitten-fighting with him, I see he's not so much as a hunter as my late George I would think he'd rather make friends with them.

Soap is largely made out of fats, often animal/vegetable fats so quite a good source of energy to anything that can get round the taste and the bubbles round the mouth.

The annoying thing is that I bought several no-kill mousetraps which I've had good success with before and he's ignored them. Maybe I should bait them with soap intead of choccie biscuits and peanut butter.

Mice are all cuteness until they eat your carpet, wee on your handbag, and set the motion sensors off on your house alarm making you think you've got burglars in the middle of the night

But I let them stay incase they fancied eating the cockroaches

PS Racku that kitten is gorgeous! He looks like a little angel

A couple of months ago I rescued one just like him from the alleyway behind my house, some undesirables had put him in a box & weighted down the lid Poor little thing was mewing pathetically & covered in wee. Gave him a wash & some milk, & the RSPCA kindly rehomed him for me

How can people do that to an animal?

My cat, that I posted a picture of earlier was also sealed in a box and dumped in a garden. A friend of mine adopted her, but she was pathetically thin and got bullied by the friends other cats. She eventually got cat flu off them and was almost dead when I took her home and looked after her.
