Yes they do nothing if it will stop or restrict them making money, which almost makes them as bad as thieving scumbags they buy it from.

Stay hopeful Catrine, you never know! I hope they catch the person who did this and you can recover your jewelry.

I am insured and on Friday i have a 2 1/2 hour phone call to go through in detail every item that was stolen, I worked out about £6500, i don't know what the insurance company will actually pay out have to see how it goes.

It's really not about the money though, I'm a collector and Barries stuff alone was a brill collection and in one fell swoop its all gone. Which is why i was telling the police what to do to look for my stuff, and the DC rang me early with a less than hopeful conversation but with no leads they closed the file in a week and a half, I'm gutted.

Thanks all for your support at this time

I would guess that, if the perps have any brains, they will sit on the stuff for a while, before trying to move it. Or, there is a private collector, which knew about your stuff, which already has it.

Well its been 2 1/2 months and the insurance is giving me 6005 replacement - how thats gonna work for 150 items of jewellery I don't know but having my meeting on the 14th.

I don't really want any shiny things - whats the point of having nice things that i worked hard for just for them to be stolen with nothing done.

I had a little magpie in me and he's died. Maybe thats a good thing and I will focus on moments for memories which can't be stolen. But I miss the fun of finding something unique.

My burglar alarm is now working on the outside as well, I'm getting a safe screwed into the floor, also locks on all my internal doors.

I've got nothing worth niking now, but if i do get burgled again they will have a tough time finding out.

Thanks for all your help and support from the greatest family there is.

I know how you feel I felt the same way when my jewellery was stolen
and I just gave up for the longest time and even now I don't buy jewellery any more I
found something else that has forced me to become more social and come out of my shell more

Really sorry for all you've been through Catrine, and how it's made you feel about replacing your jewelry. :( I hope after some time passes you'll enjoy treating yourself again.
