What an emotional rollercoaster of a weekend it has been. As I said previously, all the kitties were adopted apart from Tory and Grant. When the event finished, they were transferred to a different Petsmart, where they have pens for them and they were to go on the general adoption list. The whole of today has been a buzz of people being sad, people being angry and people trying to be positive. We knew that the store they had been moved to opened at 10.00 am this morning and were hoping that someone would adopt them.
When Foster Dad John arrived this morning (he's a volunteer at this store) there were half a dozen people waiting for the store to open so they could adopt Grant and Tory. It was first come first served in this case and, wonderfully, the lucky couple wanted both kittens! While they were filling out the paperwork, even more people turned up hopeful to adopt them.
I suspect there were some serious conversations going on in homes in Washington State last night!
I'm currently watching The Firefly Kittens
, who are a week old tomorrow and most have already doubled their birth weight. There are seven of them, born to momma "Firefly" (we all thing she deserves to be named "Serenity") and all the kittens are named after characters in the series.
