From Man of Steel shenanigans to this.

Gut-wrenching but essential viewing I believe.

Watched The Last Stand (Arnie's comeback movie) Sad to say the Governator's looking pretty incongruous in the action roles. Ah well, it comes to us all...
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? ~~ Oddball

I tend to get very angry at movies which could've been awesome and then aren't... I was loving the movie until the last, say, 5 minutes :P sorry if that was a spoiler... I have a couple of other friends who've seen it and it's dividing - some think it was brilliant (which in lot of ways it was) and others were less enthousiastic.
It's worth a watch though ;)

Did you see the faces of the two former guards? They just couldn't help but smile as they were talking about what they'd done.

Yes. In one part the last guard who spoke in the trailer said he didn't want North & South Korea to join together. He made the comment, What if someone I guarded from the camps recognised me in the street?

Shin says in the film when the camps are destroyed he'd go back & build a farm on that land, where he was born. It's heart-breaking.

It's an extraordinary documentary , I highly recommend it.

I saw a documentary several years ago about orphans in N Korea. The government stance is that there are no "unofficial" orphans there - they don't exist. Anyone caught acknowledging them or feeding them will be beaten. Needless to say these children often die. Official orphans are a sort of publicity campaign and live in luxury, but are trotted out every so often to show what a caring country N. Korea is. :?
