Okay. In honour with my recent brush with depression, I thought I'd create this thread. This is less things that make you smile at the moment, and more things that may make you smile when you're feeling down.
Needless to say, this needs to be kept worksafe.
Okay, I'll start with two things that recently made me smile and laugh. The first is Darths and Droids
. In a world where Star Wars
does not exist, a science fantasy tabletop RPG goes steadily off the rails, where Qui-Gon Jin is played by a gung-ho player who believes more in fighting that roleplaying and believes a Jedi to be a type of cheese, Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the few sane people, Jar-Jar Binks is created by a young girl with a wild imagination, and R2-D2 is played by a self-centred munchkin with delusions of grandeur. Oh, and Anakin Skywalker is (eventually) played by an actress who gets on well with the roleplaying aspects of an RPG, but the dice-rolling...well, at least it's better than Waiting for Godot
The second is the Doctor Who
Big Finish audio play The Kingmaker
, starring Peter Davison as the Doctor, Nicola Bryant as Peri, and Caroline Morris as Erimem. The Doctor is way past a publisher's deadline, and in order to avoid being killed by their enforcer robot, he has to go back in time to 1485 and find out what really happened to the Princes in the Tower. Hilarity ensues. Imagine the worlds of Doctor Who
colliding, and you get this. Comedy both dark and light abound.
Four minutes? That's ages! What if I get bored? I need a television, a couple of books. Anyone for chess? Bring me knitting.
