Half a dozen of one and six of the other!

Postby Square12 » Fri May 17, 2013 9:32 pm

This thread is for those moments that fall into both of a pair of apparently opposing threads eg. Nuggan & Om or smile & frustration etc

So this is a smile/frustration thing: I made brownies for the first time today, but didn't realise the oven was on oven + grill setting, but fortunately I realised before it was completely too late. So to conclude they were tasty albeit mildly charred on top.

Using this recipe, it's actually very easy*: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1223 ... r-brownies

*assuming you double check your oven settings.
If you can fill the unforgiving minute,
With sixty seconds worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a man my son.

Fools rush in .............
OK, I'm getting on a bit and care not for the backlash nor the flak.
I would only hazard the advice that any gods might offer:

WHEN IN DOUBT, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS

Knowing where you're going so you don't need to check the map/GPS/Satnav - but going by the habit pattern that still takes you to where your friend moved away from three years ago, and not realizing it for 20 miles. Sigh. My car gets good mileage - it needs to. Lesson: watch out for habit patterns.

Turning up to an appointment 55 minutes late (thinking you are 5 minutes early) because you forgot to reset the clocks for daylight savings time (BST from GMT)
Or of course being 1 hour 5 minutes early because you forgot the reverse in October !

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, naked, drunk and on fire screaming YEEHAAW ! . . . .

Wogan used to present before norton, he was much funnier, especially when it came to the voting

We've got someone new commenting this year, he is sober and boring....so, since I am slightly tipsy and tend to be rude, I'll just do my own commenting  :D
