On the news today, I see the giant duck of peace has deflated in Hong Kong.

Fingers crossed this isn't an omen of future conflict between man and duck.

Looking at it more closely, if the guy standing on it is Jonah, that would explain what happened.

I've finally got around to processing day 6 of my holiday pics. The weather this day was really poor with wind and rainy showers added to the cold. The sky was really flat and grey so it was an effort to try and get anything from the light; in the end I even started trying for 'arty' type shots rather than landscapes.

One of my 'arty' attempts. ;)
Image

The 'proper stuff' begins with a church at St. Just in Roseland which is located on the shore. Unfortunately, the tide was out but if anybody else wants to visit it, then I recommend doing so when it is in (and the weather is better). Nevertheless, it is still a very attractive and peaceful place to visit. :D

Then we went to St. Anthony Head (I wonder if it really was named after the Buffy star? ). The weather and light was so poor here that I only managed to get a couple of reasonable snaps.

You can just about make out St. Mawes Castle on the promontory. If the weather was clearer, I would have been able to get a view across the water to Pendennis Castle, as well, from here.

And a couple of the St. Anthony Head Lighthouse.

Next up was a brief visit to Portscathe.

This was followed by a trip to Caerhayes Castle which my friend thought could be seen from the beach. He was rather wrong on that score.

After this disappointment, we spent the rest of the day at Mevagissey. I found this quite interesting, although some _ing rotter had parked their car right in front of the lighthouse, ruining what could have been some great photos. The one I took below involved climbing onto the harbour wall and laying across it in such a way that the car was hidden.

The back-crippling lighthouse.

I wouldn't mind owning that house!

A local fisherman that we got talking to while he was mending his nets.
Image

We got back to Charlestown and after dinner I decided to grab a couple of evening shots to plan for some night/evening shots on the waterfront later that week (weather permitting). I've had a little play with them because the light was so flat and dull. ;)

Really like that last one Penners and 'The back-crippling lighthouse' either could have been taken anytime in the last 100 years. I love that timeless feel to them
One of those? Oh I'm sure I have one somewhere..
