I do hope this is the correct place to post - apologies if it's deemed a needless thread clogging up the place!
My partner's birthday is approaching, and she adores the tales of Discword and the great man himself - this is as good a place as any to ask - are there any quaint Discworld themed shops, tea rooms, places to visit (in the UK!) regardless how different or obscure.
Would love to take my partner some where, regardless how small, to get another, alltogether different fix of Discworld. It would put a smile on face!
Does anyone have any suggestions? Any and all ideas and are warmly welcome.
Don't forget if you do go to Wincanton to come in via the A303. When you come over the bridge and then turn right towards town there is a large Welcome to Wincanton sign. At the bottom of the sign it says twinned with and right in the middle is the Ankh-Morpork coat of arms. Makes me smile every time I drive into Wincanton.
You could also book her (and yourself) a long weekend at next years Disc World convention in Manchester where you might have a chance to meet the man himself and a few others. I did my first one last year and had a fantastic time, meeting some great people as well as having a one hour coffee/tea chat with Sir Terry and eleven other lucky 'winners'.
The difference between fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense.
