I had quite a few people point out they didn't care yesterday when no one had even brought it up . Funny that

It's a comment on the fuss being made over the retirement of a football manager (however successful), over other more newsworthy and frankly pressing events going on nationally and internationally.

Well it was/is on my part anyway :) ;)

People who don't like football dismiss too easily the important and sometimes central role it plays in a lot of peoples lives.

Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that

Football is big business, so there must be lots of people who care. JLS splitting up got plenty of column inches, but it didn't get a thread on here because most people genuinely don't give a poop.

What is JLS? :?

I'm sure lots of people do indeed care. I know that football and sports of other types are important to people. I know and understand that. But I personally don't care in much the same way that I don't care about the royal family, who is marrying who and whether they are having babies. :)

If we didn't have football, or actually any other group sports, we would probably be waging war against each other... you could say footie is a form of modern warfare, only without the weapons and more rules. Also, less dangerous. Well, mostly less dangerous.

JLS is/was a pop group from of one of these "Voice-factor's got talent idol" shows that Simon cowell pollutes the world with, I mean seriously weren't the spice girls enough?
Anyway I think JLS stands for Just Lacks Skill
If you can fill the unforgiving minute,
With sixty seconds worth of distance run,

And - which is more - you'll be a man my son.

You should all care about football because if it wasn't for football then we wouldn't have been able to enjoy Unseen Academicals :naughty:

I myself am a Man Utd supporter and SAF will be sadly missed and he has given me as much pleasure over the last 26years as Sir TP :D
