Aw darn washing machines! They do it on purpose, I'm sure of that! Glad to hear it's all working again.
I'm a bit frustrated because when it comes to growing backbone, I am among the people who probably have a groth deficit.
Why can't I talk normally to people on the phone? Or just like... actually talk to someone properly? I was supposed to ask for a pay raise for some private person me and a friend are making flyers, folders and booklets for (because the amount they're paying us now is laughably small, especially since we are going to be fully qualified graphic designers in four weeks time, damn it!), but I couldn't stand in for myself and demand they give us a raise, but instead turned into a little scared mouse and stammered my way through "You know... we were thinking... it would be nice if we... well... got some more.. money?".
As I always do when I'm supposed to stand up for myself. People who have a gift with words are so lucky.
Like my friend. She then had a 10 minute long phone conversation and the deal was done. *sigh*

That is by far the most difficult thing about life when you're socially awkward.
And I mean 'awkward' in a sense of genuinely being scared of face-to-face conversations. And then people accuse you of being arrogant because you're too scared to show emotions in public. And that makes you even more scared.
Or is that just a teenage thing?
Funny thing I noticed aswell is that my self-confidence takes a leap when I speak English than to when I speak German. Is that weird? Does anyone else get that when they're not speaking their native language?
