I believe the chronology was that the brake cylinder went, which damaged the rear brake shoes, which damaged the brake drum. The drum being the biggie! The first I knew of it was the handbrake getting stuck and having to call out the AA.

I almost decided to write the car off at that point, but I needed to get to work on the Monday (in a location genuinely inaccessible via public transport) and I decided it would be too much hassle to go car hunting.

I've got no water  or at least just a trickle coming out of the tap in the kitchen sink and nothing anywhere else. However because I can get that tiny amount Severn Trent Water reckon that I am classed as 'reduced supply' rather than no water so therefore it's not an important problem and they can take 36 hours to reconnect me

That is so annoying Mad. Should we organize a bucket chain for you?

No water so it's flush once and then you're done for. I only found out there was no water after I flushed it this morning

It's about half a dozen of us so that should make it easier to find the fault when they can be bothered to come out and fix it

Ok, this is what you do, go to tescos buy bottled water and claim it back of the next bill, tell your neighbours to do the same, (pardon the pun) don't take the piss, but for example you can I assume refill the cistern etc you at least need a wash daily etc, even if it is a sink and flannel wash. You are paying them for a service which qualifies as a basic need. If they refuse to reimburse threaten either small claims court, OFWAT, or mixed media campaign e.g. Facebook, twitter etc. if they still refuse carry your threat out. Plus threaten to switch provider if you can.

And - which is more - you'll be a man my son.

We've got too much water! Mr Dotsie is refitting the bathroom, but can't seem to get the water to turn off first...soggy.
What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!
