Terrorist attack in Boston

Postby raisindot » Mon Apr 15, 2013 9:04 pm

Two people killed and at least 20 injured when two bombs went off near the end of today's Boston Marathon. My wife was only two miles away (getting a medical checkup) from the area when these went off, but she managed to get out before the whole area was sealed off.

Just heard about this myself and immediately thought of you Jeff. I'm glad you and yours weren't involved. This is just awful. :(

Oh smeg that is not good!
Glad people's family are safe!

Dreadful, I hope they catch the scum & string them up.
Saw this on the news this evening & got an email from my friend who lives there but didn't go to watch the marathon. She was saying her neighbour was there as her daughter was running. Friend hopes they are both OK.
Fingers crossed they are.
Best wishes,
Tiff

^^^^^^^^^ What she said, raisindot. My heart is in my throat about it all.

There were building security cameras from every imaginable angle and they are going to go through them as well as every pixel of private and media footage available. They believe one of them is among the dead from the second bomb. Two bombs, almost 50 wounded, many critical and two confirmed dead, one of them being an 8 year old child. It is horrific and I am "mazed" at the fact that it happened at all.

Glad you and yours are okay, Raisindot. Hope your friend and daughter are safe, Tiffany. Is it really too much to ask the radicals that have issue with the way the world is to just take themselves out of it and leave the rest of us alone? :(

Near where I live, in Rockford IL, there is so much gang violence and numerous daily shootings. It has grown to be over most of the city. You can be robbed in many neighborhoods that were considered "safe" less than 5 years ago. It is a terrorist threat on a daily basis, albeit a smaller one.

I fear for our world a lot now, and distract myself by trying to live and play music. These things sadden my heart beyond ken.

Glad your family is OK Raisindot. My heart goes out to all the injured and their families.

And a massive pat on the back to all the emergency service guys who reacted so quickly again - running in to a situation to help, not knowing if there were further bombs - true heroes.
