OMG!

Postby Tonyblack » Mon Apr 01, 2013 10:24 am

Well talk about drama!!!

I'm sitting here in my bedroom drinking coffee when I became aware of flashing lights out in the street. I live near a hospital, so that's nothing new. But the light are staying in the same place. I looked out and there are a dozen dark coloured Transit vans with flashing lights on the dashboards and a load of - I don't know if they're police or military. I can't see any police emblems. They're all armed and wearing balaclavas and have just surrounded a house a couple of doors down.

No idea what's going on, but I'll take a few photos if I can. :o

Bloody hell!!

Just heard a massive explosion that shook the building. All the car alarms are going off here and there's smoke pouring out of the building they surrounded.

I managed to get a couple of pictures, but of the blokes with guns saw me and made it absolutely clear that I shouldn't take any more. That bang was so loud that I'm shaking here.

It seems to be mostly over. The armed blokes ran into the house and about five minutes (it seemed much longer) later they came out with a bunch of young men all with those plastic handcuff things on. As I said there's a big teaching hospital very close and therefore we get a lot of students around here. I'd assumed these young men were trainee doctors from overseas. They've all been bundled into the vans and driven off at speed. The Police have arrived now and there at least two helicopters buzzing around. It's bedlam!

There's broken glass everywhere in the street. I'm amazed that none of my widows broke.

Talk about drama! I have no idea what it was about - I'm assuming a counter terrorist operation. If it were drugs I'd imagine the police would deal with it. But these guys were very slick.

I'm looking at the online news and the local radio to fin d out more, bu tthere's nothing yet. :?

Looks like the police are starting door-to-door enquiries. They have paired off and are going to all the houses knocking on the door. So I may have more news soon.

This is a special message to Sharlene:

Dear Sharlene:

Please find a way to pack Tony up in a great big box and ship him back to you ASAP. He clearly needs your supervision.
