They tell the listeners how much they need to keep running the station and listeners send donations in until the target is reached - they "pledge" money. :)

This guy: :D

Mark Sway. My favorite Singer/Songwriter at the present moment. He's Swiss, actually grew up not too far from where I live.

The incredible thing about him is that he sings in dozens of different languages. Mainly English, but also German, Swiss German (believe me, it's a different language), French, Spanish, Italian, ect.

Otherwise known as the monthly "beg-a-thon." All public radio stations in the U.S. do this, and they all tend to do it at the same time, so you can't avoid it unless you don't listen to these stations at all.

I've often manned the telephone banks at these things and one common tactic the stations is to play the sounds of telephones ringing in the background to make it look like everyone and their brother are calling in, so you should to. It's pretty funny to be sitting in the phone room where nothing is going on while listening to the fake phones ring on the live broadcasts they pipe in.

In the U.S., when you donate your clunker car to a public radio station, it's known as a Lemon Pledge. :D

No one's ever called me Becky. I had a girlfriend once, her name was Rebecca. Not even she was called Becky. :P

I'm always open to good music, so there was never no hope for me ;).

Here's another gem from what I consider one of Germany's best metal bands

Blind Guardian - Mordred's Song (acoustic)

Really liked that second song Cheery! Couldn't play the first one.

It's the Classic FM Hall of Fame weekend. They play the top 300 pieces of music as voted for by their listeners. They started yesterday morning and finish Monday evening. Currently playing Debussy's 'La Mer'. :)

Sorry, Alanz. Didn't do anything weird here.
Which one? They're both by Blind Guardian.
