That sucks Seimimac - it's so disappointing to be let down like that. Image A similar thing happened to me and the housemate at the Wincanton Hogswatch this year, but luckily the CA mods stepped in with 'cover' gifts for the inevitable no shows and Pete got a very silly polycup-shield (a little purple knitted basque to hold a hot mug safely) and some geriatric jelly-babies :D He was more annoyed than I was as I'd made both our own gifts for that draw and for the one on here (I gave to Pip's babby :D ) so some time and effort had gone into it. :(

Take comfort from the fun you got in choosing and making your gift in the true spirit of the 'game' (I love planning what I'm going to do for my giftee) and, if you're around for this year's draw I hope that this time you'll get a Hogfather who's in it for the joy of giving. 8-)

Thanks for the kinds words, guys.

I suppose one thing I haven't taken into consideration is that there may have been a lot of stuff going on in the other person's life at the time, and maybe I'm just being a bit selfish.

Anyway, after my little outburst, I do feel better. I'll return soon :)

I'm sorry this happened, but as you said, the other person might have had problems, or maybe the package disappeared in the post (happened to me twice! Packages were never found), and maybe the other person was sad too because he/she thought you never thanked them :(
I'm sure no one wanted to harm you on purpouse...

I certainly would not like it if someone did not receive a Hogwatch pressie I had sent out, just in case they thought you had not bothered to send one, that why I always get a proof of posting receit just in case.

Well, the Hogfather must have been listening to my woes recently, because when I returned home from work today, there was a parcel waiting for me.

It contained a letter from the Hogfather himself, saying that he had heard I hadn't received my gift, but assured me that, despite rumours to the contrary, and following a thorough investigation, I had indeed been a good human.

In the package was also a lovely figurine of C.M.O.T Dibbler, complete with tray :)

Thank you, Hogfather! :D

And thank you. I am deeply touched.

Umm, I can understand that you would be disappointed.

Wifey sent my sister a gift this Christmas; to her address from 7 years ago! I obviously came back and I had to pay to get it back from the post office. I let my sis know that I would not send it again, since the shipping cost would have be 3-4 times the value of the item. She understood.

EDIT:
Oops, I did not see your post before I started.

I am honestly so chuffed! :D

Although we are not Nanny Oggish in our placement of photos and knick-knacks (Gods, I must be getting old! I've never before had a knick-knack!), this little guy will be front and centre amongst our collection of collectibles :)

Oh, how sweet.
