Had fun topping out some holly trees in my dad's garden today. It was sleeting/snowing and about 0C but it was great to get out and do some proper work for a change - rather than just sitting at a desk.

Yesterday Thing 2 was playing outside, Blue the Husky next door was going crazy wanting to get to her. There was a babysitter there and I told Vivian not to get the dog all riled up. Didn't want the babysitter to have to deal with a barking dog too. I looked out the window a few minutes later. Blue was on one side of the gate trying to head-butt it open, Vivian was on this side with a shovel trying to tunnel under it.

Did you get any pieces of the trunk and branches thick enough to slice across to make discs so you can do your artwork on them? :)

Of all the forces in the universe, the hardest to overcome is the force of habit. Gravity is easy-peasy by comparison.

Had fun in the snow with my nieces, till one of them fell over then it all went wrong. Oh dear! Had to get home immediately for hot chocolate. Then the youngest gave my phone a good licking, what on earth is in toddler spit? It's like varnish!
What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Watching Skyfall with my Dad this evening :) We've got a little routine going on at the moment where one evening at the weekend we'll watch a film in my room. I bought him the first series of Inspector Montalbano for Christmas and we've worked our way through that, and now we either watch a dvd or whatever film happens to be on tv. We both have a fondness for not-very-good action films where the good guys end up beating all the bad guys almost single-handedly, saving the world in the process ;) :D He puts up with my (terrible!) habit of talking/exclaiming at the tv and I put up with the smell/sound of him munching popcorn. It's a nice break from just being carer/caree :)
Hah! I laugh in the face of danger... Then I hide until it goes away.

That sounds like an almost perfect way of spending an evening, Phoenix.

I also tend to shout at the TV when bad action becomes unbelievably bad action. Oh, how I miss 24!
