In case you're puzzled, that's from the Astronomy lyrics. I wish I knew what they're really about.

Wiki wrote:The song's lyrics are selected verses from a poem by Sandy Pearlman, the band's producer and mastermind behind their image, called "The Soft Doctrines of Immaginos". In the poem, which was later partially released under the BÖC moniker in the album Imaginos, aliens known as Les Invisibles guide an altered human named Imaginos, also called Desdinova, through history, playing key roles that eventually lead to the outbreak of World War I.

In "Astronomy", the character of Imaginos comes to realize his heritage and his role as the altered human. References are made to celestial objects throughout the song: "The light that never warms" being the moon, "The Queenly flux" the constellation Cassiopeia, "My dog, fixed and consequent" being Sirius, the dog star. The "Four Winds Bar" may be a reference to the Tropic of Cancer. All in all, it has Imaginos explaining his position as part of Les Invisibles.

Have heard of Blue Oyster Cult, ChristianB. They're one of those bands I hear people talking about but I only knew (Don't Fear) The Reaper. Astronomy is V. good.

I agree with what is said, a lot of modern music is awful. There's still a lot of good new music out there though. I listen to an alternative radio station & they play new/old and varied stuff. I'll give all music a try, well I say 'all music' that's not Top 40, modern Country & Western & R n B, :snooty: ;).

Here's another John Butler Trio. I've seen this guy live many times, he's amazing on the guitar.

There was just as much awful music in previous decades as there is today. it's just that time has filtered out most of the trash and what you are left with is the higher quality stuff. That, combined with the beer goggles of nostalgia and you get the "Kids these days...." arguments. it happened to your parents, it'll happen to your kids.

Thanks, Tony.
Either that explanation is rather new, or I didn't find it when I searched for it some time ago. Which would be surprising, since I distinctly remember reading the Wiki entry.

Glad you liked Tuonela, Alanz. You'd probably also like Rusty Moon from the same album; here's an acoustic version you should like even more (although the original isn't very heavy).
But perhaps you'll like it better, not knowing the original version:

Yeah, I noticed. Only I didn't consider it steampunk. I was wondering about the gauge, though.
