So.. there was this party... for about 500 people... two of my best friends were flying out to the UK for a year and as I was the resident cake icer I was asked to make the centerpiece. It took me all freaking weekend. I had these two little koalas on a little plane flying from Australia on one side of the cake to the UK on the other. On the way to the party I hit a pothole in the road and the car went UP violently and then DOWN violently. The cake which took up the whole of the back seat flipped up and stuck to the backrest of the back seat.
I used the huge knife I had bought along to cut the cake to scrape the icing off the backrest (vinyl thank god.. no seat cover) and spread it back all over the cake. The outlined maps of Australia and the UK and the dotted line were gone but I made sweepy kind of bits with the white icing and stuck the koalas and the plane back in.
They LOVED it. Thought it was very artistic of me to do a SNOW SCENE with the icing since they girls were flying into a northern hemisphere winter with snow. And lo and behold I had even tipped the little plane and koalas with bits of snow... like a blizzard!!!
I never told a soul.
Just keep swimming... just keep swimming.. just keep swimming....
