The steampunk fairy is now sold! A mate saw it on Facebook and bought it for his wife! Not sure if I am happy or sad to see it go I also have a possible commission to make a steam punk Alice/Mad Hatter. Heeeelllpppp! - could be interesting

The Steam Punk Fairy is BRILLIANT chilli.... see... I told you shading was fun. It doesnt leave any scope for mistakes this wood burning though does it.

That was honestly the first time I have attempted a picture with shading. The other stuff I have done was really all silhouette work - just dark n light..... or writing. I did the pic a small area at a time (like the boots for example) and then I had to try and work out how I was going to get the shade I wanted in that area. I had a small piece of scrap wood next to me to practice a few lines of the shading each time, then just dived in. You're right though - no room for error. A lot of fun though and I find it very calming

I went out yesterday afternoon with a couple of friends from the camera club to Ditchling Beacon and Clayton. I hadn't been to either before but I expect to be going back later this year.

Unfortunately, it was quite hazy and the visibility wasn't too great. I'm pleased with the second windmill shot, though, and might well use it in the next competition.

I think that haze in the fifth picture actually adds to the composition.

I think the photos are excellent, but why do you always 'moon' us at the end?

Good one's Penners, Adur River from Mill Hill this one looked very atmospheric liked the way the fading sunlight was glistening on the river.

Just a bit of punctuation, like a full stop, I guess. Actually, I normally snap off a couple if it is in the sky above my house when I get home from my trips. I'm trying to collect enough images of different moon phases to make a collage or panel for a competition entry.
