Windows 8! :o

The lady in the flat downstairs has been on for ages about getting a laptop and I didn't really think she ever would. Well yesterday she phoned me to tell me she'd gotten one and could I help her set it up.

Bear in mind that the last computer she had was one she inherited from her mother that ran on Windows 95 and that she didn't have a clue how to use it.

Anyway, this brand new laptop has Windows 8 on it (I've got Windows 7 - which I like). What a nightmare! Nothing makes sense on it. I did what I could, but it was really frustrating not knowing how the hell anything worked. :?

I don't like windows 7, it hides everything I much prefer XP I've had a new win7 disc since it came out, and I'm putting it off loading it on my desktop, have it on my laptop . :|

my old net book is near the end of it's life and it's moaning that it doesn't have enough disc space left for updates and it's been less than 9 months since it's last refurb plus I've slowly accepted that I won't get my holiday this year
so I'm pondering maybe if I use my holiday money and buy a shiny new? netbook
all well and good except that I haven’t got a clue what sort of computer is the best I can afford
and I'm getting confused

Ghost what is your limit that you can spend, and is it a small netbook you want, or a laptop. :?:

Do you mean a netbook they're 11 inches at the most but usually have a 10" screen, you could get a laptop for that price or a chromebook.
