Okay...I really dread having to pull out the rule book on this one, but a reminder is needed: To create a new word you can add or remove one letter, or you can change one letter in the existing word to create a new one, but you CAN'T add/subtract a letter and add a new letter at the same time...that would make this far too easy. thank you for listening, now proceed, please.

Actually, you removed one letter and changed one in the same move, which is sort of what raised the red 'rulebook' flag, but you're far from the first person who ever did this so don't feel bad, there are no penalty boxes around here.

Actually it has been 4 letters for ages, It wasn't me who changed it to 5, But i don't want to argue with anyone so what are we having now 4 letters or 5?

Okay--let me explain again: You can add a letter to make a four-letter word--in the previous example your four letter word hear becomes a five letter word, i.e., earth; also, you can remove one letter from a five letter word to make a four letter word without shedding a tear, but you can't create a new word by adding or subtracting a letter and changing another letter in the previously used word in the same move; thus, while trees might shake their limbs at this rule or a cat might hiss its disapproval, by the rules of the game such a move is not allowed; as much as it breaks my heart to have to say so, capice?
