I have a confession to make. I am a man with a colorful past. My biggest victim over the years has been your esteemed self. Over the years I have stolen many of your books, I have heard that your books are the most stolen in Britain and i suspect the same might be threw in Ireland. i don't know if i feel guilty about this, but i would not have done it i could have afforded to buy them myself. I have also bought some of your book, over the years i have been more than happy to spent my money when i could on your books.

As i am currently contemplating the ethics of information and file sharing on the net i am wondering what your thought or feeling of my literal theft of your work, considering they have enriched and enlightened my life, they kept me hoping when there was no light..

At the moment i am studying social care and community development in Dublin Ireland in an institute of technology. i feel your thought could not only enlighten my life again i think i would also enlighten the life's of my class mates and college peer's.
Mr Terry Pratchett is my Hero and has helped me live in millions of ways
I hope he sees these words and knows i shall forever be grateful and am thankful

Welcome to the site, jackal2012! :)

As far as we know, Terry doesn't visit this site. He has certainly never posted here. But you never know. ;)

Hi there jackal - lets hope this means you're joining the Thieves Guild and will get licensed at last?

Thought I'd just say a few words to say hello. I'm an avid discworld reader, and have been so for over twenty years now, more than half my life. When I first started reading them, only about five had been published. I also have an interest in popular science and like to dabble in astronomy. My avatar is an image of Saturn I took myself. In order sound like a rounded human being, I'll throw in a couple other interests at random: I also have a passion for curry and music.

I did meet Sir Terry once; he came to my school a couple of times to give talks in the library. Unfortunately, I didn't find out about them until the day, so was unable to attend. So 'met' is an exaggeration - 'walked past on the way to the bus' is a more literal truth.

Best wishes everyone.
