Heh, working overnight I would go outside for breaks. occasionally you could see a bat or two flapping around. but you never saw them get close.At most you would see them glide into the light just long enough to tell what they were, then they'd be gone again.

I tend to see a lot of bats around the apartment complex on summer evenings in Tucson.

there is a street light down the lane next to my house and you often get bats flying around the light after the moths

In summer we have tiny bats flapping all around the garden. They either live in our roof or somewhere close by. We like watching them!

I used to live in a house that had quite a large termite mound down the road.I didn't even know there where bats in the area until the flying termites came out.Was fun to watch them all catching bugs.
