I'm still trying to get five hand-held moon images showing the different phases for a competition idea that I'm working on. This is my latest attempt although it probably won't be the one I'll be using.

Thanks all. :D

It is somewhat. Photographing a full moon is tricky because of the shadows cast by the full-on sun are almost non-existent, unlike when there is a waxing or waning moon. The lack of shadows in craters, on moutain ranges, etc. makes for a fairly featureless landscape so I was trying a few different post processing programs to try and bring them out a bit more. The one used in the pic above was done with a process called "gradient mapping" (I haven't a clue what it means except that it takes a couple of tones and contrasts them......sort of :? ).

I'm still going strong through the night since I don't know when my next opportunity will be. Here is another that I have just taken (no post processing other than cropping, sharpening, and exposure adjustments). The moon has rotated position enough to reveal a couple more features. :D

The camera club hired a couple of professional models for an evening of practical photography. I've never tried to do any portrait/posed stuff before so it was quite interesting and quite a bit of a challenge, to be honest. The only thing they asked is that I credit them on the photos if I show them in a public place. So here are a couple;

Rita Damper.

More stuff with Rita can be found at http://www.ritadamper.co.uk (Hope you don't mind me doing this Tony but I was asked specifically and she was very helpful to us novices. :D ) I will probably hire her services for myself in the future as she is also a professional photographer as well as a model and only charges £25 an hour for lessons (more if you want the use of her studio).

Anda Bergman.

It was a very interesting, enjoyable evening and I'm really pleased with the results considering that it was my first attempt. :D

There's a look of Madonna, facially, on the second one.

The Anda Bergman shot doesn't display Penners. Love the second Rita Damper one

I really dislike doing portraits, it's a totally different skill and not one I am personally happy with my results from so far. I had to do it for my photography A level but I will only do it again if someone really wants me to, I won't do it for fun.
