I have a good friend who has a lovely mid-western accent that is so pretty. Its always so lovely to talk to her and her family. She still gets a buzz out of my aussie accent and especially talking to the girls when they were much younger (although H's was all babble before she learnt to talk she said it was babble with an aussie accent

) For some reason a CHILD with a strong accent is even more fascinating. Though I must say I thought the same of her girls.

Totally agree. Irish accents can get you into alot of trouble too girls.

Yes, Irish accents are nice too.

I used to work with a man from Scotland and I loved that every morning he would say "Good morrrnin' darrrlin'!".

What a perfect way to start the day. One morning he just said, "Hey!" and my day was almost ruined.

Depends on which part of Scotland. I find the Glasgow accent a little coarse, but Edinburgh more refined. Dundee is okay as is Inverness and only so much Aberdeen will do. As for Ireland, Southern is nice, Belfast tolerable.

Now, my partner is from Derry, Ireland so I get to hear that lots which is nice as I'm a sucker for an Irish accent. She used to live in Aberdeen (and me in Elgin) so I got used to those accents. I now live in Wales and could listen to some young Welsh ladies talk all day long.

Used to work with a lady from Romania....sigh.....it didn't help that she was stunning either...

I was at college with a woman whose family divided their year between living on Shetland and in Liverpool. She could hold forth in either accent and had the most mesmerising voice I ever heard. If she was telling an anecdote in the common room people would stop in their tracks to hear the end

I had a serious thing with a man from Bolivia once.....being told 'Good morning' in Castillian Spanish can be very special......... :whistle:

i went to wilmington north carolina in the late 80s and the young ladies there loved my welsh accent :dance:

I just love the Geordie accent, always have done.

I was brought up in a small village in Shropshire and some of the words used are unbelievable like MON for mate and such like.

I lived and worked in Shropshire (nr Much Wenlock) for 7 years. My slightly softened Northern twang was mistaken for a Shropshire accent more than once when I was a tour guide

Broc you know Southhall then bit of a shithole really, parts of it stinks in the summer, I lived in Ealiing which was the town adjoining next to it what a comparrison.

I must admit my accent has grown stronger since I've moved back home.

Yeah,I know Southhall,didn't use to be so bad though.Whn I was a nipper,Mum and me sometimes used to go shopping in the Indian shops there or my sister used to take me too.
I always liked the curry smell in the food shops.My brother loved curry (still does,as a matter of fact) and mum used to do quite a lot of Indian food.
We used to live in Hayes.
